ED Workplan

The Southeast Business Partnership intends to be the most responsive and outstanding economic development entity in Colorado.  We will respond to all inquiries within 24 hours, show absorption of 500,000 square feet of office space in the SEBP area in the following year and work with developers and commercial brokers to market the new construction and existing office space in the Southeast Denver area.

SEBP aspires to please our investors by working with City and County governments to expedite the development process and promote economic expansion.

GENERAL CLIENT SERVICES

General Client Services encompasses day-to-day economic development activities.  This includes the services that are expected and considered MUSTS.  The following summarizes those services:

  • Property Searches and property-related research
  • Prospect Handling & coordination with the MDEDC and State OEDIT
  • Research, Market Analysis
  • Involvement in regional economic development (Metro Denver EDC, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce)
  • Negotiation of Incentive Agreements, follow-up and finalize incentive agreements
  • Represent prospects at the state and local levels


MEMBER ACTIVITIES

These activities involve interactions and commitments to investors. The following summarizes these activities:

  • Quarterly reports tailored to each jurisdictions that provide an overview of that quarter’s market performance
  • Requests for SEBP to give presentations, meetings with member jurisdictions
  • Roundtable Discussions to focus on key geographic areas for business development; bring together stakeholders including elected officials, investors, commercial brokers, and environmental groups.
  • A minimum of six Roundtable Discussions will be held in the coming year.
  • Board of Governors Meetings – monthly
  • Economic Development Council – Fourth Friday of every other month, beginning in January.

 

SPECIAL PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES

This category includes items of special interest to membership and the Board.  This year’s special projects are as follows:

  • Develop marketing materials to correspond to the redesign of the SEBP web site.  Materials will focus on six key industries for business development; professional services, healthcare & health services, finance and insurance; communications, aviation, aerospace. Materials will focus on key infrastructure; Centennial Airport, T-REX expansion and light rail, premier business parks, LEED certified buildings, Rueter/Hess Reservoir. 
  • Business Retention survey to be completed in collaboration with the University of Phoenix and the South Metro Chamber.  The survey will be completed in the third quarter.
  • Workforce Development support to work with the WIRED Grant and targeted industries initiatives.
  • NAIOP Fall Event Sponsor – September 2008
  • Participation in Economic Development and Professional Groups including: Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC), CoreNet Global, ICSC, NAIOP, Colorado Economic Leadership Coalition, Colorado Nanotechnology Alliance, Rocky Mountain Real Estate Expo.  Events provide opportunities to showcase the SEBP area and strengthen relationships with Commercial Brokers and Site Selectors.
